I don’t like computers; can I still use your products?

Absolutely.  For those who are a bit shy of computers there is a handwritten notebook version.  You can add however many pages you want, wherever you want, within your story.  And you can still get it printed and bound by us.  See our store for more details.

I don’t have a scanner; how do I get the pictures to you?

You have a few options on this.  First, see if you have a friend or family member who can scan the pictures for you.  If not, or if you’re wishing this to be a surprise, virtually all office stores offer this service – for a fairly small fee.  If those options aren’t optimal for you, feel free to send your unscanned photos to us and for a small added fee we will scan the photos and then return the originals to you with your finished books.

What do I do if I have more to say in any particular question than you give space for?

It’s easy to add information to any question you want.  Just open your word processor and using Times New Roman, 11 pt., keep answering the question.  Label the question up at the top of the page.  Then just let us know when you return your questions to us where you want the added pages and we will make sure they get included in the correct spot.  NOTE:  Only do one question per extra page.  Save your extra answers as a single PDF file and include them on the flash drive that you return to us.

What if you don’t have questions about an important area of my life?

Using the same idea as above, just using your word processor, add whatever you want.  The questions are in 12 pt. bold Times New Roman, with the answers in 11 pt. regular Times New Roman.  Again, just let us know where you want the added pages and we’ll get them exactly where you want them.  Save your extra answers as a single PDF file and include them on the flash drive that you return to us.

Can I use this to write the history for somebody else?

You absolutely can.  I am using it to write the history of my late husband by contacting his family to fill in the blanks of my knowledge regarding his childhood.  Just answer what you can.  Let us know if you want us to print/publish the questions in the final version in the third person instead of first person and we can do that..

What age is ideal to start writing my history?

Any age after graduating from high school is ideal.  Writing as you go is the best way to remember details and facts.  For example, writing about your childhood and teenage years is perfect right after high school.  Write about your military experiences soon after leaving the service, or about college soon upon graduating.  It’s never too early.  And our Standard Kit is perfect for that.  You can just type your history as you experience life, print it out, and store it in a safe place.  Adding to it every few years makes for a great comprehensive history.

I don’t have any children; is there any reason to write my history?

You bet there is!  One of my prized possessions is the history written by my uncle, who never married and never had children.  I learned a lot about him that I treasure, as well as adding another perspective to my knowledge of my own father and grandparents.
